As I crossed a bridge of dreams

Sound Theatre by Peter Eötvös

CONTENT

Das Tagebuch der Lady Sarashina, ein japanisches Sitten- und Stimmungsgemälde aus dem Jahre 1008: Peter Eötvös hat Texte daraus für eine subtile Klanginszenierung genützt.

A Japanese soul, so wonderfully acted by the deep water of an Austrian soul, walks barefoot over bamboo poles, pads through the moonlight of Croatia, carried by a trombone from America living in Germany, and a sousaphone living in Gaul, on the waves of a Hungarian sound magician, accompanied by a Japanese – like giggling Italian lady, a strictly hissing German lady, and loved by a hulky cat from Upper Austria.

Lady Sarashina:
"If only I could share this
moon with one whose
feelings are like mine
– this moon that lights
the mountain village
autumn dawn!"

(Lady Sarashina´s Diary)
